Our attention has been drawn to an undated letter currently in circulation with seventy-two names penciled down as committee members, and signed by one Barr. Aliyu Adamu Galadima (Muradin Tangale), who is said to be the Secretary, Central Planning Committee for the planned visit to the Governor of Gombe State Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The list contained names of some of our members who were never consulted and have no knowledge of the matter in whatever form. We therefore wish to state categorically as follows;
- That at no point did Tangale People meet, discussed and resolved to visit His Excellency the Governor of Gombe State.
- That in the present circumstance, Elders of Tangale nation state categorically that it stand on its earlier resolution of protecting the Tangale culture, custom and tradition as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria regarding the Tangale Chieftaincy issue before a court of Law.
- Also, there is a pending suit in a court on the Mai Tangle stool. Therefore, any action taken now will amount to contempt of court.
- In the circumstance, the elders wish to appeal to all Tangale sons and daughters, as well as our well wishers to disregard the said undated letter from the so called Central Planning Committee of the said visit to His Excellency the Governor of Gombe state.
