The present International Executive of Tangale Community Development Association (TCDA) under the steering leadership of Mr P. T. Gambo (Ag. President) has a mandate powered by the General Assembly to exercise their Constitutional right. It is on record that before the demise of the late Mai Tangle, Dr Abdu Buba Maisheru II, the 15th Mai Tangale, TCDA LEADERSHIP was in existence under the leadership of Mr Agur Sankace, whose tenure was not expired, but after the passing away of the late Mai Tangle (now of blessed memory) and on 22nd March 2021 the episodes that preceded Mai’s replacement, TCDA noticed the appearance of a parallel disgruntled unpatriotic handful of some persons parading themselves as TCDA LEADERS under one Mr. Simon Lamiya who was appointed by Mal Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba (Government acclaimed Mai whose matter is before a competent court of law at the court of Appeal).
As a matter of Tangale interest, the General Assembly met at its extraordinary meeting dated 7th June, 2024 and resolved that: the TCDA constitution didn’t give power to Mai Tangle to appoint TCDA LEADERS; For the records TCDA leaders are elected or appointed by the General Assembly comprising of over 40 branches scattered around the nation and overseas. Therefore, TCDA and indeed well meaning sons and daughters of Tangale home and abroad equivocally call for a total disregard for the Lamiya-led self-acclaimed leadership because it was not the people of Tangale that gave them the mandate, and the matter is before the court.
It is worthy of note that the succession order in the leadership of TCDA from Mr Agur Sankace to Lt. Col. Boyi Sallah (Rtd) to MWO Magaji Musa (Rtd) to the present leadership under Mr P. T. Gambo (the TCDA President) was done by the TCDA General Assembly. Therefore, Mr Gambo is the only TCDA leader who can call TCDA branches for meetings or issue press statement on behalf of the TCDA and its affiliates.
It is on this note that we call on the general public that, Lamiya-led leadership is not appointed by the TCDA General Assembly but a third party who do not have the mandate of TCDA. Hence, Lamiya’s leadership is not legitimate; kindly treat his press release as a town cry while disregarding it. In addition, the TCO and Tangale elders’ press releases have spoken the minds of all the true Tangale Sons and daughters worldwide. We therefore urge all true sons and daughters of Tangale to respect and hold firmly on to our customs and traditions for the sake of posterity, and not to compromise our heritage. No law in Nigeria makes rejection of the call of a Monarch a criminal offence, where there is a lacuna in its establishment.
Tangale people should not be misled with empty promises or intimidation on social advantage to our community. The Hausa Man says “dinyan makaho ya nuna a hannunsa”
Let it be known that at no point did Tangale people met, discussed and resolved to visit His Excellency the Governor of Gombe State, therefore, we call on every family to withdraw from whatever arrangements to that effect. Our ancestors and fallen heroes are lying down in their graves, crying for the lost moral values, customs and traditions of the Tangale Nation, for nature to justify the Land. No well meaning Tangale Sons and daughters will partake in this act of mortgaging our ancestral land.
May God deliver Tangale land from the hands of such birth right sellers (anan telo) for a porridge that may not last them a whole day.
We pray to God Almighty for a hitch free rainy season and a bountiful harvest as we trust Him for the security of the land.
#God Bless TCDA
#God Bless Tangale Nation
#God Bless Billiri L.G.A
#God Bless Gombe State.
Signed
